The visit of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan to Karachi

H.E. Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam the honorable Ambassador of the I.R.Iran arrived in Karachi.

Iranian Ambassador visited the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi, to pay tribute to the father of the nation of Pakistan.

H.E. Amiri Moghaddam also met Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, former President of Pakistan. In this meeting, H.E. Hassan Noorian, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, and Mr. Salim Mandaviwala, a senior member of the People's Party and former Vice President of the Senate of Pakistan, were also present. In this meeting, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan mentioned that strengthening cooperation with neighborhood countries, especially Pakistan, as a friendly and important country of Iran, is the priority of the 13th government's policy.

During his stay in Karachi, the Iranian diplomat also held talks with the governor of Sindh, H.E. Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, and the Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, H.E. Maqbool Baqar.

Maqbool Baqar talking to Iran’s envoy said that the border market has opened between the two countries. Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam has said that two more markets along the border would also open soon. Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh Maqbool Baqar has expressed hope that the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline issue will be resolved soon.

Iranian Ambassador Attended the meetings that were held separately by the Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) and Pakistan Council on Foreign Relations (PCFR), as well as meetings with businessmen at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).

He also visited the facilities and equipment of Karachi port and exchanged views with officials of the National Shipping Company of Pakistan and heads of Karachi and Qasim ports regarding bilateral cooperation.
