The visit of the president of the I.R.Iran to Karachi

Following the visit of the Iranian President to Islamabad and Lahore the high president#39s delegation arrived to Karachi on the third leg of his visit to Pakistan on Tuesday 23rd April 2024.

Iranian Consul General H.E. Hassan Nourian, the Sindh Chief Minister H.E. Murad Ali Shah, the Governor of Sindh H.E. Kamran Tessori, Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Jam Khan Shoro, Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Jam Mehtab Dahar and other noted members of the provincial cabinet extended a warm welcome to the visiting dignitaries upon their arrival at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

President Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter, First Lady Aseefa Bhutto, was also present at the airport to welcome the visiting dignitaries and the spouse of Iranian President.

Soon after arriving in Karachi, the Iranian President along with the accompanying delegation visited the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay tribute to the father of the nation of Pakistan. He laid floral wreaths at the Mazar and offered fateha and recorded his impressions in the book of visitors.

The Iranian president met the Sindh officials at the CM House. They discussed various issues including matters of mutual interest during the meeting.

Iranian president received honorary PhD degree In recognition of his services for further bolstering ties between the two nations. Sindh Governor Mr Tessori, as the chancellor of the University of Karachi, awarded honorary degree of doctorate in philosophy (PhD) to the Iranian president.

Speaking on the occasion, the governor said: “It is an honor for the University of Karachi to confer the honourary degree on the Iranian president.” Stressing the need for the ideal relationship among the Muslim countries, the governor said that he wanted to further strengthen ties between Pakistan and Iran. Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also called on the Iranian president at the CM House.

Besides meetings with the governor and the chief minister, the Honorable President of the I.R.Iran, in the presence of a group of elites, intellectuals, economic activists, and religious scholars of this city, pointed out the productive meetings and consultations held between the officials of the two countries in Islamabad to develop economic, commercial, cultural, scientific and technological relations between the two brotherly countries.

He added that the will of the Muslim nations and freedom-seekers of the world under the banner of cohesion and integration for the freedom of Quds and the victory of Palestine will be realized.

Addressing the ceremony held at the CM house in honor of the Iranian president, Syed Murad Ali Shah respected CM said: “I am proud to welcome Pakistan’s long-standing friend.” He said that we welcom the president on behalf of the people of Sindh. Pakistan and Iran have supported each other wholeheartedly, he said, adding that PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and former prime minister Benazir Bhutto always gave importance to Islamabad’s relations with Tehran.

He invited the Iranian business community to invest in Pakistan and take advantage of the favorable and business-friendly environment in the country. Murad Ali Shah wished Iranian investors to join the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) projects.

Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, left Karachi towards Colombo on Wednesday morning 24th April 2024 while expressed his satisfaction about the visit to Pakistan
