Iran Border Guard Commander arrives in Pakistan
Commander of Iran#39s Border Guards Brigadier-General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi has arrived in Karachi to participate in international search and rescue exercises Barracuda.
General Goudarzi and an accompanying delegation were welcomed upon their arrival at Jinnah International Airport by officials of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), in the presence of Iranian Consul General Akbar Eissa zadeh and Colonel Mohammad Mohsen Shahabi, the military attaché of Iran. The Border Guard delegation is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Director General of the PMSA, Rear Admiral Shahzad Iqbal, with the aim of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries. In a meeting with Akbar Eissa zadeh, Consul General of Iran in Karachi, Brigadier-General Ahmad Ali Goudarzi stated that while there are challenges along the eastern borders, a shared understanding and technical and legal cooperation have ensured favorable border relations between the Iranian and Pakistani border forces. Eissa zadeh, also noted during the meeting that such encounters reflect a mutual concern over border threats and a determination to address them through a technical and developmental approach.
