High-Level Delegation from Iran’s Khorasan Razavi Province Arrives in Karachi to Boost Bilateral Ties
Karachi January 30 2025 — In a move aimed at deepening Iran–Pakistan relations a high-level delegation from Iran’s northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province led by Governor Gholamhossein Mozaffari arrived in Karachi on Wednesday morning for a multi-day visit focused on strengthening cooperation across economic cultural and regional sectors.
The delegation was received at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport by Hassan Nourian, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Karachi, along with Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh’s Minister for Energy. Officials from both sides emphasized the importance of provincial-level diplomacy in enhancing people-to-people contacts, trade relations, and cultural exchange between the neighboring countries. During their stay in Karachi, the Iranian delegation is expected to hold meetings with provincial authorities, business leaders, and cultural institutions to explore avenues for mutual collaboration. Sources close to the delegation say key areas of discussion will include energy cooperation, tourism, and academic partnerships. This visit follows a series of recent diplomatic and parliamentary exchanges between Iran and Pakistan, signaling renewed momentum in bilateral relations at both national and regional levels. Khorasan Razavi, home to the holy city of Mashhad, is one of Iran’s most influential provinces in terms of religious tourism and cross-border trade, and has expressed interest in expanding its economic footprint in South Asia.
